In this picture, Macduff is fighting himself showing how it is man vs self. The situation is his kids, wife, and everyone in the castle at the time were killed. He thinks it was his fault and you can see that he thinks that when he shouts "[t]hey were all struck for [him]"(IV.iii.225). This means that he thinks they were all killed because of him, because he wasn't there, because he was manly enough to protect them all. This is man vs. self because he thinks it is all on himself.

while Macduff is grieving he says that "I shall do so; [b]ut I must also feel it as a man" (IV, iii. 220-221). this shows that Macduff is struggling to deal with his family's death and isn't acting like a man because of his feelings. he is also blaming himself for their death. this is man vs self because he has to deal with the way he is feeling while trying to act like a man.

While Ross was talking to Macduff, Ross sadly had to dissemble that, "[his] castle is surprised; [his] wife and babes [s]avagely slaughtered" (IV.iii. 204-205). This means Macbeth sent people to kill Macduff's family. Because of this, Macduff wants kill Macbeth later on in this act. This shows man vs man because Macbeth is going up against Macduff in a way without actually killing him, but killing everyone else around him. Macbeth is also going up against him family since they were the ones he killed. - Abby
