The Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage - UNESCO
Australia ratified the World Heritage Convention in 1972, emphasising the importance of protecting heritage sites with sustainable development initiatives to consider the needs of local communities and sustainable development.

Companies are regulated by states that have ratified the convention to protect heritage sites. For example, government agencies regulate protected heritage sites such as the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority (GBRMPA). Companies must conduct Environmental Impact Assessments to assess the proposed development's potential impacts on heritage land. Businesses are regulated through zoning and land use obligations, specific industries may be banned or limited. Environment Impact Assessment guidelines may impact how a project or proposal may be completed. For example, the tourist boat charters on the great barrier reef.

International bodies, like the WHO, set healthcare standards, which national regulators adapt to their contexts. These adapted regulations define compliance for individual companies. For example, the WHO's Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for pharmaceuticals are adopted by national authorities, becoming mandatory regulations for pharmaceutical companies in those countries.

Rules that govern the internet are set at the national level. There are international forums such as the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) based in LA, USA. This sets out agreements on technical specifications such as domain names, IP addresses etc.

There is also the the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) is a multi-stakeholder governance group for policy dialogue on issues of Internet governance established by the United Nations. This is a policy dialogue forum to share best practice and does not make binding resolutions.

There are domestic regulations relating to where physical internet infrastructure can be for certain information. Section 51(v) of the Australian Constitution gives the Australian Parliament the power to make laws about 'postal, telegraphic, telephonic, and other like services'.

For example there are data retention obligations in the Telecommunication Act in Australia (https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/about-us/our-portfolios/national-security/lawful-access-telecommunications/data-retention-obligations). One obligations is that the data retention obligations require some telecommunications service providers to retain specific telecommunications data (the data set) relating to the services they offer for at least 2 years.

With regards to the outcomes of actions from telecommunication, these are addressed through domestic laws relating to the outcome (in most cases) such as cyber-bulling, or nuisance and slander suits in courts.

By Ian

International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) => uploaded by Zulfa

1. The IASB is an independent group of experts with an appropriate mix of recent practical experience in setting accounting standards, in preparing, auditing, or using financial reports, and in accounting education. IASB members are responsible for the development and publication of IFRS Accounting Standards, including the IFRS for SMEs Accounting Standard. The IASB is also responsible for approving Interpretations of IFRS Accounting Standards as developed by the IFRS Interpretations Committee (formerly IFRIC).

2. Implementing IFRS in a country involves a commitment from the government and regulatory authorities, alignment of the legal framework, education and training of professionals, phased adoption, and ongoing monitoring and updates. It also requires collaboration with stakeholders, awareness campaigns, and the development of a national accounting standards board to oversee the transition to IFRS.

3. The objective of achieving a unified set of top-notch global accounting standards enjoys backing from influential international bodies such as the G20 and various governments, along with support from business associations, investors, and the global accounting community. Subsequently, regulatory authorities implement regulations mandating the use of IFRS standards by all publicly listed companies and require public accounting firms to adhere to these standards in their services.
