For housing the plains people, they made teepees because they were easily set up and taken down when they had to move in order to hunt bison. These teepees are made by putting up a wood frame, then putting buffalo hide around the frame. The hides are tied to the frame with sinew which is made from buffalo tendons

The bison or the buffalo once roamed on the land of the great plains. They were something the plains people used in every day life. They used every part of the bison from the hide for teepees to the tendons for sinew or string to the bladder for holding water. They ate buffalo and made tools with it's bones. without the buffalo they would have lived very differently.
