These teepees are made by putting up a wood frame, then putting buffalo hide around the frame. The hides are tied to the frame with sinew which is made from buffalo tendons

They were something the plains people used in every day life. They used every part of the bison from the hide for teepees to the tendons for sinew or string to the bladder for holding water.
