Finding this bunny skull in the woods outside my house made me think “I HAVE to use this, somehow.” So I thought of things involving skulls as well as how I can use this in a thoughtful way, so I thought about Hamlet’s famous “to be or not to be” quote, and how the guy is holding a skull while asking. Me being on the toilet, holding this skull and thinking represents how the most random, philosophical thoughts can occur to a person at any time. Usually when someone is deep in thought, I think of the pose or poses similar to The Thinker.

I was struggling to find out what I could do for this piece, when I thought about memes and how easily exploitable they are. So I remembered the” I HATE [thing]! I HATE [thing]!” format. I decided to use this to exaggerate how someone can feel with social anxiety and how they can dread things such as icebreakers.

I searched up artwork relating to inner demons, personified fears, and shadowy figures. I thought of the idea of personifying the random intrusive thoughts one can occasionally have as some entity that appears for a few seconds just to mess with your head a little bit, just to make you feel weird and unsettled. Same can be said about overthinking; creeping irritation.
