My own example: Johnny wanted to go play on the playground, but the rain was preventing him to go to the playground. 

Another example I made up:  Jose was trying to survive out in the wild. Her dad's car had crashed and no one else survived she has to get to the town where her grandma lives, but that is 100 miles away.
