Since the guards spend 8 hours five days a week at the museum around the artwork, it isn’t a surprise that they know a lot about it. Also, people should think about why the guards wanted to become guards. If they weren’t interested in art, do you think they would want to be around art all the time in their job? Clearly they are interested in art, since many of them are artists themselves. Because they are the ones making sure you can see the art. They are making sure that people don't steal the art. Also guards can be artists too. People shouldn't not think that. They should be happy that they get to look at art, the guards make that happen.

But the visitors still ignored them, which makes me ANGRY. If people act like that toward guards, it probably makes them feel offended, and their feelings are hurt. The news article said the guards said they felt like invisible people, and I don't find that fair. The guards worked very hard in the museum, but people still  ignore them. And I think Amelia is right.Calling guards "just guards" is like calling a kid "just a kid". And if guards don't have any knowledge about art, why find a job at an art museum? This is not fair because I bet the guards really wanted to express what they thought about art.They also felt invisible when they were ignored by the visitors making them feel like the did not matter at all and no one. The guards also worked a lot in the museum. They knew so much about the art, but they could never share their opinions and knowledge as much as others could. Visitors made the guards feel invisible. They never said anything at all to the guards and acted as if they didn't even exist!
