I learned that the doctors do a lot of the intake & do not appear rushed when with patients vs here. There are a lot of education pieces necessary for this culture. Lack of resources Honduras does not have yet vs in the US.

Having the opportunity to actually interact with CHW's allowed us to get hands on "clinical" experience with a different culture. This is an experience that many students do not get which provides an amazing experience that puts us ahead of many students.

Being able to interact with individuals in the clinics to experience in practice. I think it really put things into perspective, but I did find learning about the cultures and the lifestyles there was helpful.

Honestly I thought that this was very well organized. The canvas was easy to navigate and each week was informative in the information that was given to us. It was interesting to do the telehealth day and I really loved doing the presentation to the CHW

The ability to communicate with individuals with other cultures regardless of my personal ability to translate / speak their language is something I will carry with me throughout my practice!

One area that can be improved is focusing the virtual program days in the clinic to what nurses would be expected to know and help with. Although optometry was interesting, this is something that we do not have to help with in general for nursing here.

I think this program was a lot of fun and conveyed a lot of information. I think it could be improved if communication with the CHW's could be improved somehow. Maybe by using prerecorded education videos to share with them and then answering questions live.

I wish there was more clinic days to put things together, and being able to learn how to interact with individuals that cannot speak our language. I thought the course was easily accessible.

I felt like each week we learned new things and it was well organized I don't think anything needs to change. I think it would be interesting to do more than one presentation to the CHWs so more could learn.

i really enjoyed this program and i wouldn't change much. Some of the beginning of this course was a little slow with more of just sitting there and listening instead of active interaction like we saw in the end of the course but i also see how its important to have this slower start to the beginning of the course to teach us how global brigades works

I am going to be better prepared as a nurse to care for different cultures and be prepared to see/hear things that may not be considered "normal" here

I will always meet my patients where they are at and not set goals that require resources that are unavailable to them. I will also shift my practice to disease prevention and education.

I am going to apply this to my professional life by using the cultural practices with caring for patients who are different than my culture. This will allow me to provide better care and help them come up with a plan for their health that they are actually going to keep up with and are happy to follow.

I can't think of anything that needs to be improved. I think that we were adequate prepared throughout the semester to provide quality presentations to the CHW's. Canvas was well organized and I didn't have many problems.

In the hospitals here we are seeing more and more people who are from other countries. I think this helped me understand how to interact with them. As well as possible barriers I need to keep in mind, and to educate on.

I believe this program was very organized - although the connection between Canvas and our platform, BlackBoard, is something that could be improved upon. Centralizing information and assignment Dropbox's would be very beneficial to avoid confusion and missing Dropbox's

i think this will be important in all of our future careers because virtual medicine is going to become more and more popular. Early exposure to this will help us in all of the different healthcare settings by already having exposure to this

Going forward into practice, when taking care of a patient from another culture/ speaks a different language I now feel confident in my abilities to compentently care for them. One thing I really want to take forward is bridging the gap in education.

I think the only thing I would recommend improving was to just allow for more time with the CHWs for our education pamphlets. I feel that we could have been able to answer any questions they had and really engaged them more so that we could be verify that they understood what we were teaching.
