This allows scientists to see the structures of the specimen.

How do they differ from each other?

Similarities | Differences
both anatomy and histology is based upon the study of the structure of the organism. | Anatomy is the study of different structures of the organism, whereas, histology is the study of the microscopic structure, chemical composition, and function of the tissue

Is the human body fit for purpose?

The human body has many adaptations to fit the many purposes it has, to survive within their environment. There are different systems within the body which work together to fill their functions.

The systems of the body includes:

Circulatory - a network consisting of blood, blood vessels, and the heart. This network supplies tissues in the body with oxygen and other nutrients, transports hormones, and removes unnecessary waste products.

Immune - the organs and processes of the body that provide resistance to infection and toxins

Skeletal - composed of bones, cartilages, ligaments and other tissues that perform essential functions for the human body. Main function being structure.

Excretory - performs the function of excretion, the bodily process of discharging wastes. The Excretory system is responsible for the elimination of wastes produced by homeostasis.

Muscular - an organ system consisting of skeletal, smooth and cardiac muscles. It permits movement of the body, maintains posture and circulates blood throughout the body.

Endocrine - collection of glands that produce hormones that regulate metabolism, growth and development, tissue function, sexual function, reproduction, sleep, and mood, among other things

Digestive - consists of the gastrointestinal tract plus the accessory organs of digestion (the tongue, salivary glands, pancreas, liver, and gallbladder). Digestion involves the breakdown of food into smaller and smaller components, until they can be absorbed and assimilated into the body.

Nervous - a complex network of nerves and cells that carry messages to and from the brain and spinal cord to various parts of the body.

Respiratory - series of organs responsible for taking in oxygen and expelling carbon dioxide. The primary organs of the respiratory system are lungs, which carry out this exchange of gases as we breathe.
