The crisp shadows caught on the fabric compared to the smoother curved of the shadows in the background are quite interesting. Like the hidden truth, always more complex than the visual we are presented with.

This I then photographed to catch interesting shadows, I learned from my past light work that a torch would be helpful. I managed to find a small torch and use that, I think it was helpful but a stronger torch light would have better. It did give a spotlight effect which I thought was subtle yet added a little more drama. I kept these cotton creations a little normal and not too extravagant, for the same reason as my paper ones. He kept to himself and was known to be extremely quiet, only opening up to his very close friends. During the time he had to himself in the hospital, he would wander around in search of items he could get creative with, of which is how he found wool, grass and beech leaves. He would use these to create the garments, then hide them within bushes. A documentary was made in 2004 dedicated to exploring McPhee's life; Hidden Gifts:The Mystery of Angus McPhee, of which won the Britspotting award the following year. I used a lid, wrapping green wool around its exterior, leaving it to dry to create the spiral. I made an almost pendant at the bottom by using repeated knots, like the basic, figure 8 and the double overhand stopper knot. Adding another section to the top with twin, to create a place for it to hang from. 
I really love how the spiral was caught in the shadow spotlight. 
The spiral could relate to the ongoing march of time, and how we (the pendant) are but one section to pass.

This is a hand-crocheted piece using multiple colour. It is hanging from the ceiling, it is supposed to portray Neto’s idea of life, and its conception of how we come into being. It’s really interesting how it hangs and sags, looking like its about to fall, but sturdy enough to handle people walking through it.

I positioned them to try and figure out where would be best to have the piece and get a feel for how a structure would look in each area. Area 2 was my favourite, but area 1 also came out well.

It was a little hard to make but overall I think turned out well. I used the same fabric I did for the 3D experiment that inspired it. I then made tinfoil into teardrop shapes and suspended them from the top with grey wool. I then wrapped twine around it and pierced through it, to further the idea of my theme of our actions constricting mother nature.

I wrapped them in cloth, pieced them with holes and then connected them together with twine to create the spiderweb shape.
This one I made with the help of a piece of drift wood I had lying around for my geckos enclosure. I used it to show how the structure would be wrapped around like a spider web trap. This is to help further the idea of my theme with how our actions are abusing mother nature, leading us to make a trap for ourselves. 
I think for the photo, the branch was a little too much and distracts from the piece itself. However it makes the structure less invasive, which is how I would want my bigger sculpture to be. I enjoyed combining these types of materials, I feel my A4 piece came out really well, better than my larger piece. It was easier to add colours to this one as the maqeutte already had colour so I knew what to use. With my theme of how manmade objects are typically destructive to Mother Nature, I now want to explore how we can combine the two without it having negative affects on both us and the nature that keeps us thriving. I want to be able to develop something that brings out the beauty of nature, while not distracting from its purity. To bring attention to how we can work with nature to flourish, without damaging each other. 

I have used natural colours in my work, such as white, beige and reflective material. The white represents purity, the twine the rustic, more dirty side of nature and the reflective material is to present a mirror, we must look at ourselves to see how we can fix the world. I use the twine to represent our actions, how they constrict nature, typically causing a fight between us and it, with our conflicting desires. The material I used were very mouldable, such as the tinfoil, fabric and twine. We can mould these to create what we want, such as the future. Time is not flexible, so with out action strangling nature, we must act quick. 

I will continue to use mouldable materials, to create a final piece that resembles my first maquette. I have chosen this one, as I feel it was the most successful and fulfills my theme nicely. I will be making some adjustments and improvements however I will be keeping the same general idea.

I also made the twine knotted like in my thumbnail ideas, kinda like safe barbed wire. 

Once this was all ready, I added the droplets, of which the middle one I added a bluey green coloured string, this is so symbolize how mother nature is at the middle of everything we do. This really helped finalise my thoughts and ideas. I am happy with this area, as it makes my piece the centre. I am also happy with the sculpture itself, it encapsulates everything I have been working to express. 

Such as the twine, representing our actions strangling, even if unintentional, mother nature. The middle dangle piece is to portray the world, at the centre of everything we do, this is signaled by the thread wrapped around it, while the other two are bare. The tinfoil, is to reflect our actions (the twine).
