Program operators/ Presenters : Dr. Halidu MUSAH & Dr. Jonas FIADZAWOO

SYNOPSIS : « Early Marriage » is a theatre programme on radio for all publics but particularly for adolescents and adults at level of A2 to B2. It is a theatre centered on African traditions that force young girls into early marriages especially to elderly people presumed to be rich. This theatre exposes the harmful effects of this practice on the future prospects of young girls. It brings to light how the future of a young girl was destroyed because of a forced marriage. The marriage was contracted due to a debt owed by the girl’s mother to an old man in their village. By the choice of simple words and expressions the drama exposed certain negative practices that tend to trample the progress of girls in the African society.

The diffusion of the drama will start by a short African music. It will be followed by the key words of the day in both French and English. After a jingle (the sound of a traditional drum), the theatre will be presented and the moral lesson stated. The progression from one scene to the other will be indicated by a short musical interlude.
