I could not believe how fulfilling and enjoyable it was to watch my little sister, with whom I have been matched for four and a half years, blossom and grow as a young woman. The more I worked with youth, the more I realized I enjoyed it-- and that I wanted to teach. As a teenager myself, some of the most nurturing influences in my life were the teachers who truly cared. I still remember and cherish them as an adult. As an educator, I want to be that teacher for my own students.
