He's even smart enough to tell that he was dumb and his improvements now, "Anyway, now I know i'm getting smarter everyday." "I feel a lot better today, but I guess i'm still a little angry that all the time people were laughing and making fun of me because I wasn't so smart."  Him improving how smart he is, is showing that the surgery is going well. It's an embarrassment on how he use to see himself because he thinks back and sees how dumb he was from how he is now. I knew I could count on him.

I had told him that there was nothing to worry about people see different things. "What might this be? What do you see on this card? People see all sorts of things in these inkblots."Charlie was shocked when   had told him that he didn't know what to think. "I was shocked. That wasn't what I had expected him to say at all." He use to be to dumb to even understand what I wanted him to do now since improved he knows that it really wasn't that hard to do what was asked. Maybe they was just hanging with him to make fun of how dumb he was, maybe they feel like they don't have control of things anymore. Charlie wanted to take his friends out for lunch but they didn't have time for him. "I guess it'll take a little time for them to get use to the changes in me." "Everybody seems to be frightened of me." "When I went up over to Amos Borg and tapped him on the shoulder, he jumped up in the air." We been arguing about who's experiment it was but last time Dr. Nemur didn't even care about what was going on with charlie she didn't  really believe that it was going to work I always believed it was going to work on him. "Dr. Nemur was saying that it was his experiment and his research, and Dr. Strauss was shouting back that he contributed just as much, because he found me through Miss. Kinnian and he performed the operation." She was starting to see how much smarter he was getting she even said that by the time he gets smart he will be leaving her behind. She even tells him that was she is saying is true. "It's true charlie. you're already a better reader that I am. You can read a whole page at a glance while I can take in only a few lines at a time. And you remember every single thing you read. I'm lucky if I can recall the main thoughts and the general meaning." She is really encouraging him that he is doing better with his reading. She goes to tell him that there are levels of reading and he is building up and up. "There are many levels charlie, like steps on a giant  ladder that take you up higher and higher to see more and more of the world around you." "I can only see a little bit of that, charlie, and I won't go much higher than I am now, but you'll keep climbing up and up, and more and more, and each step will open new worlds that you never even knew existed." He started to see the changes in himself he already started to gain more and more levels. He just didn't want to leave Miss. Kinnian behind he was in love with her even though this was a good start for him.
