Resit Information

At certain points in the year, all student marks are taken to the Board of Examiners to be confirmed. Until this takes place marks are provisional and subject to change. The Board also decides if you have any resits and which modules these will be for.

PGT resits work on a revise and resubmit model, meaning you do not get a new question to answer. Students should work on improving their original submission using their academic feedback and submit your revised assessment as their resit.

Please note; academics will only give clarification and not further feedback or re-marking before work is submitted. You should have all you need to successfully complete the resit.

Compensated Marks:-

You may hear the terms 'condonable' and 'compensated'. In some instances, if you do not pass a module your marks may be compensated. We can compensate a maximum of 30 credits, these marks must be above 40 and you must have passed all other modules including your dissertation. By compensating these marks, you are still eligible to be awarded a full postgraduate degree.

If you are in a scenario where you have failed more than 30 credits, or the marks that need to be compensated are below 40 then you cannot be awarded the full degree and you will graduate with an intermediate award. This will be calculated on the amount of credits you have passed.

If you pass 60 credits you will be awarded a Post Graduate Certificate (PGCert).

If you pass 120 credits you will be awarded a Post Graduate Diploma (PGDip).
