See
Canadian government put innocent Japanese-Canadians into filthy, cramped internment camps simply because they feared of Japanese spying and saw them as a potential threat. Their personal belongings of greater fiscal value and properties/houses were taken away by the government, sold, and the money gained from selling their belongings was put into building internment camps.
Think
What the Canadian government did to innocent Japanese was inexcusable, and such extreme measures did not have to be taken, even if there was in fact a real reason to feel threatened by potential Japanese spying. Such a thing would be much, much less likely to happen in modern day Canada.
Wonder
How do Syrian refugees feel today? Why would the government waste so much money, time, and resources on something that was more likely than not totally benign?

After today’s class I saw a country (Japan) scared of possible threats (US) and did something uncalled for when they attacked pearl harbour killing 2500 and dismantling the US navy. And then Canada now scared of what Japan can do, decided to do something way worse than killing 2500 people by stripping the lively hood of thousands upon thousands of innocent people for merely having the same ethnicity of people they were not related and aquatinted with other than race. We did this for almost a decade and after that it took us 40 more years to apologize and a sub par apology at that. I still wondering why they thought every Japanese Canadian was a threat and to blame for what the rising sun Japan military had done. Why did they think internment camps was the best option?
