My name is Diana Mendoza, as you guys might know, and I am from Colombia. Something unique about me is that I love nature and I like hiking. This Christmas break I had the opportunity to go hiking with my roomies and I liked it a lot, even with the cold weather. There are beautiful landscapes here in Canada.
For this course, I hope to learn a lot about different industries, similar to the last class, I hope to have more class activities, if it is possible outdoor activities where we can learn and having fun together.

I wanna share my experience of becoming a mother during last month. it is wonderful experience for me when I saw my baby first time and he was crying. I spent almost 25 days in hospital due to my child and I never forget this moments as it is both happy and stressed situation for me. Because all time I thought that when my baby discharged from NICU. finally with god grace both me and my baby are fine and at home. I like to spend my most time with my child.

My name is Shakirat Sadik, I am from Nigeria. A Licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) with over twelve years of experience working as an Aviation Safety Inspector with the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), I have had countless opportunities to be exposed to the world and evolution of safety.

My enrollment in Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance have taught me how important it is to work in a safe and healthier environment. The course has given me the opportunity to have a more comprehensive knowledge of the law, acts, and regulations concerning Health, Safety, and the Environmental in British Columbia and other provinces in Canada.

After my studies, and with my newfound knowledge in Occupation Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance, I am confident that I will assist any organization I will be working for to promote the Health and safety of the organization/Company.

My experience in Canada as an International student has been so amazing, and I have met new friends who are so kind and generous. When I am not working., I enjoy spending time with my family.

You may know as your instructor. I have been an instructor at Langara College since 2019 and passionate about sharing the knowledge gained over the past 15 years working in the Health, Safety and Environmental Compliance industry.

When not lecturing on-campus or enforcing legislations, I’m often travelling to conferences networking with industry professionals on a variety of environmental topics and regulatory issues.

Outside of work you’ll likely spot me on a mountain skiing or hiking. During the summer break, I’m typically on the water kiteboarding around Squamish and Vancouver Island.

I look forward to another great semester and getting to know everyone.

My name is Upninder Kaur. I am from India, Punjab. I have done my Master's in Zoology.
This course taught me how important it is to work in a safe and healthier environment. A health and safety course will teach us about OHS laws, environmental regulations, worker rights, and employer responsibilities. For instance, we'll learn about the proper labeling of hazardous products under the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS).

The unique thing about me is that I love to explore nature. "I enjoy learning new things and am constantly seeking out new learning opportunities."

I miss my family. Hope we will be soon together at my graduation.

As for my uniqueness, I will say I am pretty old-fashioned in many ways, for instance, I tend to refuse using any technological products, unless I really have to do so. Also, I dislike taking pictures of any kind. Therefore it took me a while to find a picture of myself. Hopefully you all like the picture of me with eyes closed :)

So excited to have us start another term again together. and I hope it will be a fantastic one.

Last term was great despite the struggles at the beginning but I'm glad it ended well and was very encouraging. My experience in Canada so far has been awesome, having to meet new people, and have a new community, its multicultural nature is amazing.

Aside from Health and Safety, I love creating designs and making unique handmade dresses for little girls, a passion I developed a long time ago and still keep at it in my spare time.

I'm glad I choose this program as it's quite interesting exposing one to learning new things from different industries.
