October 8th 1954 Pres. Dwight D. Eisenhower issues the first "Veterans Day Proclamation" Which stated that "In order to insure proper and widespread observance of this anniversary, all veterans, all veterans' organizations, and the entire citizenry will wish to join hands in the common purpose."

November 11, 1918 is known to be the end of "war to end all wars." Later President Wilson proclaims November 11th to be "Armistice Day." President Wilson states that Armistice day will be full of pride in our heros and gratitude of our victory, and our freedom.
