         <description><![CDATA[<div>Because the Portulaca seed decreased so greatly; most of the thin beaked finches that ate them starved. However, the large beaked finches could eat the tribulus seeds so they didn't starve. This is why most of the birds left were big beaked. This shows natural selection because the better adapted birds survived because they could eat the available food.</div>]]></description>

The birds that survived were mostly big beaked, this is why the average beak size increased. This shows natural selection because the birds that were adapted to eat the available food survived.</div>]]></description>
