They fought for the rights of all workers demanding better working conditions and eight-hour days. Strikes and protest became common which in some cases turned violent. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Stop #4: South Dakota Home of the Natives. </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The battle that happened here was The Battle of Wounded Knee in 1890. It was a massacre of the Natives. They were then subjected to the Dawes Act where the Natives were assimilated, they were land given to the individual families, and then given them citizenship eventually.  But eventually the Dawes Act failed. </div>]]></description>
