A break-through moment that I experienced last year was our trip to the museum. To be completely honest, I wasn’t exactly thrilled to go based on previous experiences there. However, last year was different. My students took their time to observe, read information, and ask questions. They enjoyed it so much that we didn’t even get to finish seeing all of the exhibits, and they wanted to stay longer!
While reflecting on this trip afterwards, I felt so proud of them. They took responsibility for their learning and had a wonderful experience. We go through our learner profiles daily in class, but to see my students actually become them felt like a break-through moment for me. It wasn’t just that they “got it”, they were authentically acting upon it.

Sharing learning and experiences is crucial as well as we are all learners who learn from each other on a daily basis. Having open door classes is a great way to start learning and supporting each other for the sake of the organization. Aya

Question 1:
As a facilitator and a mother of my own three children, I have found words of encouragement for kids can make an enormous difference in a child’s outlook. Kids need to be encouraged on a regular basis. When children feel encouraged they tend to be more positive, behave better, and strive to succeed... Our words of encouragement will help the learners to understand that they have the ability to improve on their efforts and determine to keep trying, as well as boost their self esteem and help them to believe in themselves...

1. What breakthrough moments did we experience last year?
As a facilitator, a "breakthrough " moment occurs when I am not only able to reach a learner academically , but also emotionally. I believe major part of my success as a facilitator lies in building communication skills, facilitating learners to be open minded, and instilling confidence in my little learners. Of course providing tools for learners to be inquirers and become more knowledgeable are vital, but without confidence and good communication skills, these tools will be of little value . Equipping learners with the means and encourgement to become confident, open-minded, empathetic communicators who believe in themselves will allow them to attain higher goals , make charitable contributions to society and make the world a better place.

Question 2
Not enforcing classroom rules 100% of the time. This is by far the biggest mistake, and it’s a common problem for a majority of teachers. For every time you let something go, you create more misbehavior in the future.

Lecturing, pleading, scolding, and reminding students instead of letting your consequences do the job they’re intended to do. Lean exclusively on your classroom management plan, and you will eliminate the need to use these ineffectual methods.

Taking poor student behavior personally. Revenge isn’t sweet, it’s self-sabotage. Letting your emotions get involved in classroom management will cloud your judgment, makes you do things you will regret, and alienate your students.

Yelling at students. Raising your voice creates tension and ruins rapport. It also provides a poor model for your students by showing them the wrong way to behave when things don’t go their way. Most importantly , it communicates to your students that you only mean what you say when you raise your voice.
