We began work on our individual audio experimentation projects, which involved composing a Garageband soundtrack for an ad with the audio removed and then recording our own narration from a script to dub over the top. We learnt how to respond to visual cues in our music and how to emotively read a script. Parents and students observed us working. We then swapped groups and gave guided tours of the media facilities to new parents and students. Open evening (2h 30):
On Tuesday 31st January 2017, I was part of the Media team for open evening. I helped by taking people from the reception up to the media block where I would hand them over to another member of the team to be shown around. I ended up only taking around 3 people up to media. When I wasn’t doing that I was just standing around waiting for people to come to the media section. I ended up standing around for about an hour. I spoke to a few of the parents and students, I was a little nervous speaking to members of the public that I didn’t know but it wasn’t too bad as I was only around them for a small amount of time. The second part of the night I was upstairs in the media department, I was doing some editing partly for my own evidence but also for something to show the people that toured around upstairs. It was very quiet upstairs with only a few people, and so I wasn’t asked any questions.
