The discussion made me realize that I was more of a perceiving type for the most part because I like to go with the flow and do not like having to plan things out. The perceiving type works best me but may not for others and that is fine. That really made me look at my work situation differently and how I’m working people with different personality type and different ways of doing things. It is smart to know all the different types of personalities so that you are able to work and communicate well with everyone. Like many others my way of thinking and acting has changed so much. The Skills Assessment from California Career Zone gave my top five skills that was; Complex Problem-Solving Skills, social skills, resource management skills, basic skills, systems skills, and technical Skills. All of the skills described what I would need in my career in apparel production. Week five also discussed the different generations and how it can play a role in your workplace if working with someone in another generation. This is just the start of working towards my career goal and I feel as though this class really help motivate and keep me focused by looking at things that will help benefit me in my career like the assessments and surveys I discussed above. There were definitely some obstacles along the way with learning a new role in my brand-new field. Even though I am not working there currently due to what is happening around the world I am still proud and pushing towards bettering myself for my future.
