and how it evolved over time.
The start of British democracy started when Oliver Cromwell in  the 1700's. During his and Richard Cromwell's reign when the country was officially the republic of Britain. The monarchy then took over again. The next time the kings and queens were not in high power was during the 1900's with the Windsor family on the throne. This came with a prime minister which a famous one was Winston Churchill and the modern-day prime minister is Boris Johnson.
