The French and Indian war was a seven year-long war, it lasted from 1754 to 1763. The war was between Britain and France. They were fighting over the majority of the control in North America. A large amount of native americans sided with France for this war because France was trading with them and caused no harm. Britain later won the war, and the Treaty of Paris was signed. This gave Britain majority of the land in North America.

Not long after that, more soldiers arrived, and as the crowd grew much louder and much angrier, shots were fired. This riot resulted in 5 colonists being shot and dying that evening.

The Boston tea party happened in 1773. This was a protest by the colonists against the British government. They planned the protest by boarding 3 trade ships in the Boston Harbor and throwing the cargo of tea overboard. This helped the colonists gain motivation and understanding that if they want freedom, they'll have to do more. The colonists disguised themselves as Indians, so that way, they wouldn't get caught.

These acts were placed in 1774, the acts were an effort to make the colonists pay for tea and to keep them from planning any other attacks that could possibly happen. The laws stopped all trades between Boston and Britain. This act also wouldn't allow any town meetings, and gave Britain control of the colony of Massachusetts. The act also strengthened the Quartering act. Considering the port of Boston was closed, the trading of resources between the colonies was also forced to come to a stop, which had greatly impacted the economies of every colony.

These battles were started by whoever fired the first shot, there would then have been basically a shootout. The colonists defied the British, outnumbered and fought the Redcoats in the ongoing battle. The colonists fought with minute men, so not soldiers, but people who could be ready almost immediately for battle. While the Redcoats were well prepared and trained, the colonists fought hard in this battle.

The Declaration of Independence was sent on July 4th, 1776. The Declaration was about how unfair the British parliament was to the colonies, and how the colonies want a say in the government. It was also about how the colonies wanted to break away from Great Britain and the King so they could have a say in the laws. They also stated how unfair it was of the acts to be made. The Declaration of Independence, was mainly the colonies just telling the King that they were done with him and wanted to have a say in their own government, rather than following the British parliament.

The Constitution is known as the, "Supreme Law" of the US, The Constitution was important to the US at the time (and still is) it was to help the government at the time because it was growing very weak. It was also to help create a healthy government in which each state could agree. Another reason they did this was because they had three main problems; Representation, Slavery, and Counting of Population, so this was to also help with the problems. But states were having issues, there was a suggestion that larger states had more votes because of population, therefore states with smaller population objected, so they said they wanted to count slaves, they allowed this for only 20 years.

Jefferson offered 10 million for the 800,00 acres of land, though at the time Napoleon was in the middle of fighting two wars, meaning he didn't have much money. Napoleon decided to offer the entire territory for 15 million dollars (4 cents an acre) which was only 5 million more than what Jefferson offered for only part of that area! They agreed to purchase the territory, which reached from the west of Mississippi to the Rocky Mountains and from Canada.

The Oregon Trail was a vital route many people took while/when migrating to the western parts of the US. The Oregon Trail began in Missouri and concluded in Oregon City. The Covered wagon was what people used on this exploration, they were made of wood, about 10 ft long and 4 ft wide. Many emigrants over-loaded their wagons, making very few people able to fit, many people also had to walk on foot (it was a 2,000 mile journey). Many people lost their lives, some from the wagon itself, others thunderstorms, but mainly Cholera. Chloera was a disease which made these people go from very happily healthy, to dropping dead within just a couple of hours.

The Trail of Tears (1831-1850) was when the US Army moved the Cherokee, forcing them to walk from their home to a reservation in Arkansas. The Government decided to gather the Cherokee into camps and wanted to send them in groups to Arkansas. Many traveled in boats, and many walked on foot. The Hot summer caused many to die, many wanted to have a winter-walk, yet that was even worse than summer, the US Army made the children and women sleep out in the open, making it very uncomfortable. About 4,000 died, the long horrible walk that made lots cry, was The Trail of Tears
