Attending King&#39;s College London (KCL) from 2015 to 2020, Matthew Hefler completed his doctoral studies within the institution’s Department of War Studies. Over his graduate work at the University of Calgary and King&#39;s College London, Matt received training from recognized experts in their fields, including specialists connected to the governments and intelligence communities of the UK, US, France, and Canada. Within international history Matt&#39;s specialisms include analysing the activities and product of the UK&#39;s Government Code &amp; Cipher School (GV&amp;CS), the forerunner of today&#39;s Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ).

While at King&#39;s College London, Matthew Hefler served as his department’s postgraduate and research committee (PARC) representative. This entailed being a primary point of contact for KCL PhD students and regularly coordinating with administration and faculty on postgraduate issues. Matt Hefler also authored the article “In the way: Intelligence, Eden, and British foreign policy towards Italy, 1937-38” (Intelligence and National Security, 2018).</description>
