I think because this course is more theoretical, I don't have anything to add per se. It would have been awesome to have some professional UX designer from the industry to give a lecture of "Here, this is how I would do this and that". Again, we're in the University, so theoretic aspects have the floor... I, personally would have liked more of that designing aspect, but hey, this is University.

And yeah.. Examples would have been great. Like: Here's awesome UX design, this is horrible...

My recommendations: more guidance in general. Maybe examples of what kind of assignments were done by others in the course earlier and more tips towards what are good questions to ask for example in data collection.
Topic: Free choice with some ideas laid out is okay. Also could be interesting to have everyone use the same topic as was discussed yesterday.

I think it's great that we could choose whether to do the work independently or in a group. Some people prefer one over the other, which is totally fine, so it would be nice to have this option in other courses as well. I liked doing this with a pair, we shared the workload and got to discuss different phases of the course with each other.

Somewhat, UI design focuses more to actual tangible items on the interface like icons, buttons, functionalities. While UX focuses on more intangible like how users feel about certain aspects of design, is it easy/accessible/understandable for them and does the interaction bring joy to them.

Yes - you can design FOR UX but not the UX itself :)

I think I would have gotten better fulfilment out of the assignment if I had decided to do it just by myself, in my case the issue was that the topic was clearly decided and driven by me, so I ended up being de-facto project manager and implementer. This led to an imbalance in effort and it was hard to get accountability from others when working remotely.
