         <description><![CDATA[<div>The area which is now known as Chad has a long and complicated history . It was a central part of some of Africa's greatest Empires such as the Kanem -Borno, which originated in the south western part of Chad. In the early 20th century Chad<strong> </strong>became a French colony and later gained its independence in 1960. <br>Geography:<br><br>Chad is one of the 48 land-locked countries in the world and is located in North Central Africa, measuring 1,284,000 square kilometers, nearly twice the size of France and slightly more than three times the size of California. <br><br>tourism<br><br>Chad, officially the Republic of Chad, is a landlocked country in north-central Africa. It is bordered by Libya to the north, Sudan to the east, the Central African Republic to the south, Cameroon and Nigeria to the southwest, and Niger to the west.<br>industry<br>The processing of <strong>cotton</strong> and cottonseed <strong>oil</strong> and the <strong>manufacturing</strong> of peanut <strong>oil</strong>are- major industries in Chad. Modern meat-packing plants have been established in N'Djamena and Sarh. The <strong>fishing industry</strong> furnishes fresh, dried, and smoked fish for domestic use and export. Its inland capital, Yaoundé, and its biggest city, the seaport Douala, are transit points to ecotourism sites as well as beach resorts like Kribi – near the Chutes de la Lobé waterfalls, which plunge directly into the sea – and Limbe, where the Limbe Wildlife Centre houses rescued primates. <br><br>geography<br>At 475,440 km², Cameroon is the world's 54th largest country. It is slightly larger than the nation of Sweden and state of California. It is comparable in size to Papua New Guinea. Cameroon's landmass is 472,710 km², with 2,730 km² of water. <br><br>tourism<br>Like many of its neighbours, crime is a serious problem throughout <strong>Cameroon</strong>. Having said that if you are sensible, i.e. don't flash your cash around, avoid <strong>dangerous</strong> areas and be a bit inconspicuous you should have a trouble free stay.<br><br>industry<br>Find Industry and <strong>Manufacturing</strong> expertise in Cameroon. <strong>Manufacturing</strong> contributes 17.3% of Cameroon's GDP (2008). The main <strong>manufacturing</strong> activities are in<strong>petroleum</strong> production and <strong>refining</strong>, aluminum production, food <strong>processing</strong>, light<strong>consumer goods</strong>, textiles and ship repair.
