Nowadays, the 2 countries constantly fight to become the leader of the world, a position currently occupied by the USA. We can wonder how the relations between China and the US have evolved over time ? We can answer this question by studying document 1 which is an article adapted from the Guardian and released on July 1st which speaks about the trade war between China, the US and the EU, document 2 which is an article adapted from project-syndicate.org and published on April 7th 2020, which speaks about how the US and China both handled the covid crisis, document 3, which is an extract from a trade agreement between China and the US released on January 15th 2020 and document 4 which is a drawing portraying Uncle Sam and the help the US brought to China published in the 1900’s.`]]> 2023-03-14 10:21:23 UTC https://padlet.com/cbecu292/cumclsvmhkg6qkk3/wish/2515862777 Both countries are very different https://padlet.com/cbecu292/cumclsvmhkg6qkk3/wish/2515863540 The ideologies of both countries are very  different(capitalism/communism + democracy/dictatorship). So it's making the relation ship between these countries harder. In addition, in the past years, USA started to extand their territories (ex: they annexed philippines in 1898) to try to limit the chinese/communist influence in the world.
But nowadays, the trade war is looking to be better, both countries seem to be motivated to find an agreement. The USA wanted to colonize China, but the communist influence was stronger and the Chinese government did not let the USA invade the country. Nowadays, China is fully independent and in competition against the USA. It is what we can see through this set of documents. It includes an article from the Guardian published in July 2018 about Trump who was willing to win the trade war, an article from project-syndicate.org in April 2020 about how the covid-19 crisis helped China become more powerful, a third document which is a trade agreement between the US/American government and the Chinese government / China's government in January 2020 and a picture of the American influence in Philippines in 1898. It is in this context that we can analyse how the relations between China and the USA have evolved over time.
