'Fire That Blooms.' I passed by this random flower and it caught my attention, just standing there in the middle of nowhere looking important, like it had been placed by nature’s event planner to impress anyone walking past, and it made me think that if a flower can get admiration just by opening its petals maybe the secret to life is simply showing up as you are, unfolding naturally into what you’re meant to be. In its quiet presence, the flower seemed to tell a story of patience and grace, reminding me that beauty does not need to announce itself, it only needs to bloom.

"Lone Boat at Sea” tells the quiet story of a single vessel adrift, photographed in Bolinao, Pangasinan, in May 2025.

The sea stretches wide and endless, its waves moving with a calm rhythm. In the stillness, the boat conveys a sense of solitude, small yet steady beneath the open sky. In the eyes of the photographer, it reminds the seasons in life when we drift between destinations, unsure of where the current may carry us. Like the boat, we are not defined by the vastness that surrounds us, but by the courage to remain afloat, trusting that every tide, gentle or rough, is part of the journey toward becoming who we are meant to be.

It was raining gently. The shower was quiet, but everything felt fresh and cool.

I saw a pink flower, and it's a Gumamela.

Its vibrant pink color seemed to glare from all the dark leaves. It looked soft, but also strong. The rain had completely drenched the petals, and they were heavy with water.

The small drops clung to the folds like a visible, quiet sorrow. The flower captures this feeling of crying under the pouring rain. The wet, smooth petals made the pink color feel deep and intense. The Gumamela just sat there, beautiful and perfect, enduring the rain. Through the eyes, the drops adhering to the petals looks subtle, visible sadness, and at that moment, I knew exactly what to title the flower that stole the show: Gumamela's Gentle Tears. Taking a photo of it was the best choice, and at that exact moment, I new it had to be photographed.

I noticed something on the glass display of the Xiaomi store. There's a chunky cat just sitting there, completely still. The cat is not moving at all, as if its purpose was to sit there and do nothing.

I got into the store and asked the guard if it was okay to take a picture of the cute chunky cat sitting on the scooter. He immediately said yes with an excited manner. He called the cat 'Xiaomingming' and it was adorable! I took the opportunity to take as many shots of that cute chunky cat. The cat was patient; he's not moving at all, like the store's natural maneki-neko. In my eyes, the cat's purpose is to act as a good luck charm and help engage customers to make purchases inside the store. It's like the cat was getting paid to just sit there.

The cat was the perfect employee: A furry, chunky, four-legged Maneki-neko who knew exactly how to charm shoppers.

"Beyond The Aurum Dusk." So there's this thing when titling something that's related to space. I've always been fascinated by the way this word is used to space related theme, Like Buzz Lightyear's favorite catchphrase "To Infinity And Beyond." Or Love, Death, Robot's 7th episode "Beyond the Aquila Rift" Or Batman Beyond. It's like a nod to my favorite shows. Aurum, on the other hand just simply means gold in a rather more poetic way. Dusk is the day after sunset.

I've given time to capture angles that I see worth taking a picture of. I sat down on the pavement to take a moment and observe my subject. The golden hour sunset was just perfect, the golden light that's bouncing on the floor and the silhouette of the Space Shuttle Roller Coaster ride beneath a golden hour looks satisfying! Enjoying the moment and taking time to picture the best of it was fun. I always enjoy moments in life because I know everything is not permanent; my friends and classmates, we will grow apart. So I'll cherish every last bit of it because I know it's all worth it.

But I will not go home without taking a beautiful picture at Enchanted Kingdom with me. I saw this Ferris wheel and took the chance to get a photo of it.

A Ferris wheel can make you feel a lot of emotions and leave behind special memories with it. From sightseeing, being with a circle of your friends, with your loved ones, or with your partner. Riding a Ferris wheel for me is like painting, especially when you're with someone, because it unlocks a lot of emotions. Slow-paced yet exhilarating.

"The Threat." The vigilant feline is resting on a staircase. The feline observes its surroundings. Something is uncanny. The cat's eyes were locked on an unseen space. The feline was not a hunter, but a sentry sensing danger from below or above. The tension in the feline's ears and eyes made it look like a fearsome guard, yet the feline also showed that it was also the one threatened. The feline sensed my presence while taking a photo of it. It was me all along, I'm the threat. It turns out the cat was antisocial and not a fan of taking pictures. But I captured the precise instant where vigilance met vulnerability, freezing the cat as both the protector and the perceived threat of the animal's lonely urban perch.

"Not Stray, But Home." I'd like to say that these cats may have once strayed onto the streets. These cats knew what it felt like to be lost and alone. But despite that unknowingness of what the future may hold for them, they were welcomed. I had many photos of this specific cat, but this is the only cat I got a selfie with. The cat is very friendly and is probably asking me for food. But he made me feel that, despite being in a big world and roaming lost. The people around UP Town Center made this cat feel at home. The people who walk past there always give them food, and the mall management is taking care of them. These cats may once carry the feeling of being lost and alone, but they still found warmth in the world.

"When The Moon Whispers, The Cat Sleeps." I saw this cat on top of a wall, and it was washing itself. As I approached it slowly, it gave me this disgusted look. And all I felt was that pure feline judgment. It looked at me from head to toe and turned away, continuing its business. It didn't hesitate to call me a nuisance; it wasn't threatened at all. After the cat washes itself, of course, it's night and I guessed it right, usually when they wash themselves like this, they proceed to take a nap. And I took a photo of the cat right away, because now it won't give a pure look of disgust.

I was focused on capturing the cat sleeping, and the moon was a paid actor; I didn't see the moon until I angled on the cat's front point of view. I was mesmerized when I saw the moon peaking above the cat. It looked like the one you see in the movies, where something's destined to be, and everything was always aligned. The moon and the thought of the cat sleeping complemented each other. Like saying goodnight after judging my whole personality.

People were saying his name softly, as if he were an old friend. One whispered to me that Bogart hadn’t eaten yet, their voice carrying a quiet kind of care. As I looked closer, I realized that his diamond-shaped, patterned black nose, friendly nature, and gentle affection had already won the hearts of everyone around him. In that brief moment, under the fading light, I understood that Bogart wasn’t just a stray. He was a small reminder that even the quietest lives are seen, named, and loved by someone.

I turned around and saw this cat just standing upright behind the stairs as if it were a living ruler. There are a lot of people that's going down the stairs. They were pausing because they saw me taking a photo, but I insisted that they continue to pass by, and it would not bother me. I was worried that it might bother the cat, make it move from where it's at and walk away. But it remained unbothered and continued to stand still like it was programmed to do that. I chose this specific photo of this car for its facial expression, the 'blep.' The origins of the 'blep' was random and I really don't know why the cat did that. And behind it is like a perfect motion of someone walking down a stair. It gives me the feeling that a photo doesn't always have to look HD or super clear. I only used a phone to capture my pictures. And this specific picture has some kind of uniqueness to it. The more unusual it is, the better.
