After years, women joined it too. The first dancer is the leader and the one who makes the most impressive moves while the others follow.

Hora is one of the oldest and most widespread traditional Romanian dances. It is a collective dance, in which participants hold hands and form a circle, symbolizing the unity and solidarity of the community. It is danced in all regions of Romania, but each area has its own variations, with specific styles. Our hora is a stylized one. Mostly a circular movement is performed, with simple steps and variable rhythm. A large number of people can participate in the hora, everything depends on the space in which it is danced. Romanians dance the hora at important moments in community life, both at personal events and on national or local holidays.

The partners dance in pairs of two, holding each other by the waist.

At the end the dancers form a large horde with steps back and forth, then return to the semicircle formation in dance steps. They may join as many pairs as they wish to dance.

Its name probably comes from the way the fingers (dachtylidia) are clicked during the dance, giving it a special sound and rhythm.

Musically, the song usually has an intense and fast rhythm, which draws the dancers into lively movements. It is traditionally accompanied by instruments such as the bagpipe, the lyre, the tambourine and the clarinet, creating a melody full of energy and passion.

The lyrics of "Dachtylis", like many folk songs, often refer to themes of everyday life, love, nature, history and social events of Thrace. They can be narrative, descriptive or even humorous, offering a glimpse into the soul and values of the Thracian people.

Osman Taka was a Cham Albanian dancer. The dance of Osman Taka is one of the most beautiful not only of Chameria, but of the entire Albanian world and the entire Balkans. This dance originally came from Epirus, but it took the name of Osman Taka when the patriotic dancer Osman Taka, one of the main fighters of the Cham branch of the League of Prizren based in Preveza, was captured and imprisoned in the Ioannina Prison, where he was sentenced to hanging. Before he was hanged, he expressed his last wish: an orchestra that would play the Cham dance. Osman Taka began to dance in front of the governor of Ioannina and his wife. He danced the dance very beautifully. Thanks to his physical beauty, agility and dexterity, he caused the governor's daughter to almost fall out of the window. Archival documents from Ioannina say that after this dance, the governor's wife asked him not to kill Osman Taka. And indeed he was forgiven, and from that day on this dance was called the Osman Taka Dance.

In the Konya region of Central Anatolia in Turkey, dancers called whirling dervishes perform their art by rotating in this way. Special clothes called tennure are worn.

Mevlana was also taught by Shams-i Tebrizi. In fact, it is the dhikr ritual of Mevlevi dervishes. It can be summarised as the ritual they perform by taking from Hakk and distributing it to the people by opening their arms to both sides, turning their right palm to the sky and their left palm to the earth, accompanied by instruments such as Ney.

Hora is a traditional dance from Romania, a peasant dance that gathers everyone in a large circle. The dance is accompanied by musical instruments such as the dulcimer, accordion, viola, violin, double bass, saxophone, trumpet or flute. It is danced in all areas of the country, with small differences in terms of choreography.
It is danced at special events in people's lives or at major folk festivals.
My students perform the hora from Oltenia, our region. The dancers hold hands and each dancer follows a sequence of three steps forward, then backward.
The author of the hora is unknown, the dance being passed down from generation to generation.

The privilege of Çankırı in Turkish folklore, which started with the Yaren Assembly, also reaches its peak with Folk Dances. When we say Folk Dances in Çankırı, a wide range of games, each of which is of great importance, such as “children’s games, theatrical games, entertainment games, sports games, talent games, halay, greeting, mixed games, come to mind.Closed games are very common throughout the province. They are mostly played by women and men separately. Today, these games, which have gone beyond their origins and purposes and continue to exist only as a means of entertainment, are mostly played in villages, but have recently entered the city center of Çankırı. In fact, they are the village’s own property and fully reflect the village environment. The most obvious feature of this is seen in the “Kürdün Kızı” game. Çiftetelli, on the other hand, is widespread in Çankırı as it is throughout Turkey.
