Europe Day at Elementary School Pušća

"Europe in our classroom – learning, sharing, connecting!"

On the occasion of Europe Day, May 9, 2025, Pušća Primary School celebrated this

important date in a special way – marked by knowledge, unity, and the European spirit.

The central venue of the event was the newly renovated computer classroom, decorated in a

European spirit. The room was transformed into a true little European corner filled with

souvenirs, photos, and items from Erasmus+ trips, bringing to life experiences and memories

that go beyond the classroom walls.

Visitors had the opportunity to view exhibits from various European countries and learn

more about the projects in which our students and teachers have participated.

Students took part in the European Knowledge Quiz, where they demonstrated impressive

knowledge about EU member states, languages, currencies, and symbols of the European

Union.

For younger students, creative workshops titled “Draw Europe” were organized, where they

drew flags, symbols, and motifs of EU countries.

Europe Day at Pušća Primary School once again showed how important and alive European

values – cooperation, tolerance, knowledge, and mutual respect – are in our school.

The Erasmus Team of Elementary School Pušća

In the panel “Educational Bridges: Experiences with Erasmus and eTwinning Projects”, the team had the opportunity to present the Erasmus project “We are the Future” to the entire school community.

During the session, a brief assessment was made of the work carried out over the last year and the communication channels of the International Projects were presented. There was also room for an interview conducted by Jornal Escolar students with different members of the community: students, parents, partners such as Vila Franca de Xira City Council and teachers, where they shared their experiences and expectations regarding participation in these projects.

The presentation ended with a brief introduction to the current projects, reinforcing the role of Erasmus in promoting openness to new cultures, enriching the educational pathway and enhancing the Group's educational project.

Today, the meeting will be attended by the Director of the Jacques Delors European Information Center, Regina Quelhas Lima, who will present the CIEJD as a promoter of knowledge and debate on the European Union.

🗓️ Less than a month before the European Elections, this is a unique moment when we can all collectively decide on the future of the European Union.

The central theme of this mobility was “Political Intervention - Experiencing Democracy” and involved Portuguese, Italian and Croatian students and teachers.

The exchange of experiences and knowledge was immeasurable!

This experience, which took place at the I.C. Scianna Cirincione school, focused on the role of young people in relation to environmental issues in Europe.

These were days of sharing, learning and collaboration, where the students worked together to find sustainable solutions for a greener future.

They delivered the Manifesto they had drafted during the project: a document that reflects their concerns and proposals for a more democratic, fair and sustainable future.

It was a transformative experience, where it was felt that young people are ready to act and make a difference.
