I would scrap the entire lesson plan honestly, but I know that's not politically correct. There needs to be a serious revamping of the entire lesson plan. I'm not even sure where exactly to begin.

Making it a big research project. Allowing students to work together in groups and get a deeper understanding of the topic. This can increase engagement because there is a lot of heavy vocabulary and information in a 30-minute lesson

Explain the idea behind why the people of the colonies dressed as Mohawk Indians, so the truth is exposed.

I would have scholars role play, and make sure to connect the truth. I would also bring up correlating topics of today.

I would change the prosecution activity into a roleplay of the Boston Tea Party. That way the students have a more tangible experience of the event and are able to recall it better.

Pizza Taxation

We would order pizza for the class and as we hand out slices we take a piece of their slice before they got it to show what taxation without representation is and then explain how some of the members of Boston tea party would dress up as members of the mohawk tribe and explain why that's not ok. We could also explain that the tea party is america's first riot.

Let the focus be more so about the economics aspects of the beginning of the Revolution, and stray away from the American/Native American relationship in this light. Remove the portion that includes the Mohawk Tribe, and spend more time making the connection between the oppressive acts of England on the new colonies that led up to the Boston Tea party.
