In the play Romeo and Juliet the main theme is that love will never last forever. Romeo and Juliet have more of a forbidden romance and it is foreshadowed many times throughout the play of what will happen at the end. There are also multiple parallels between Light and Dark since Romeo and Juliet love in the dark. This multi-genre project is a collection of works that reflect these themes.

"Romeo, there dead, was husband to that Juliet;/An she, there dead, that Romeo's faithful wife." This quote expresses that Romeo and Juliet were married and Juliet was very faithful to him. They both loved each other but they died in the end. Their love may have ended because of their circumstances but their families would stop their feud in honor of the death that followed the feud.

"What's here? A cup, closed in my true love's hand?/Poison, I see, hath been his timeless end./O churl! drunk all, and left no friendly drop/To help me after? I will kiss thy lips./Haply some poison yet doth hang on them/To make me die with a restorative." This quote explains that Romeo and Juliet were both devout to each other no matter the price. Juliet was happy to die when Romeo died, and the same was said with Romeo. That shows that they were ready to sacrifice each other and their love story ended in ruin.

"The vaulty heaven so high above our heads./Come death, and welcome! Juliet wills it so./How is't, my soul? Let's talk; it is not day." The quote given foreshadows the end of the story because it talks about how Romeo will stay with Juliet even if it brings death. In the end, this is what happens when Romeo dies in the end because he loved Juliet so much that even if she died he would die. Love in the end will not last because both of the lovers die in the end.

"Why I descend into this bed of death/ Is partly to behold my lady's face,/ But chiefly to take thence from her dead finger/ A precious ring-a ring that I must use/ In dear employment." Romeo wants to join Juliet in death because she has "died" to avoid the fact she must marry Paris. This part in the story is when Romeo finally figures out that Juliet is dead. He is distraught and is very motivated to join her in death so they are not separated. This is when things finally start to go down hill, and the love they have lasts until Juliet is finally dead.

" A lightning before death. O, how may I/ Call this a lightning? O my love! my wife!/ Death, that hath sucked the honey of thy breath,/ Hath had no power yet upon thy beauty." At this point in the quote, Romeo is expressing his sadness about how death has taken Juliet. Juliet is actually not dead, but Romeo thinks she is and kills himself. But Juliet sees this and finally, she dies as well. The end of their story lasts with both of them dead, ending their love and lives. But in the end, the families come together from their differences to mourn their children.
