As Jonas is taking to the giver about how he wants to wake up every morning and make his own decisions and then goes on to say that's it's not fair. He then states “It's the choosing that's important, isn't it?”. In other words, choosing is important because it shows that we have freedom and the choice to do what we want and what we wear. Lowry is trying to make us see that the freedom of choice is important in our world today. The story had a big impact on thinking about our world and how lucky we are to have that choice of what we wear and what we eat, etc.

This quote happens when The Giver and Jonas are talking about the different jobs in the community and have Jonas thinking that the committee is so good at picking what everyone should do.
In other words, he is pointing out something in his world that seems pretty important and keeps the order.
The author is trying to make us see that this is just the surface of this “Perfect” utopica. There is more under what is going on about this system.
This passage had a significant impact on my thinking about how the characters live in this world. It tells us they are part of a system that is seeming perfect in every way.

Jonas was mad because there was no color in the world and the giver said the quote to see if that was Jonas meant. The giver said in other words that since he didn’t have other choices that what he wants to happen.
The author is trying to make us see that Jonas is figuring out the other part of the world and he wishes that it was different from where is it now and wants it to go back to the “normal life”. The quote is important because it shows how jonas feel about everything he is learning. The real world connections are that different country may want to go back to what they had in the past and know about it but they are trying to figure out to to change it but the country forgot about it and doesn’t want to go back. This story had a significant impact on my thinking about how the world may think about and how other people may want change but some people may think the different in the world now then in the past.

jonas and the giver start talking about how if they should have there own choices. the giver says the quote "its the choosing that's important isn't it" this to me means that jonas is starting to think about freedom. this can be connected to real life in the scents that we have freedom. this is said to jonas and the giver is the one who said it. this also makes me think that jonas and the giver are going to show the people what freedom is and there going to start using it in everyday life

Jonas and The Giver has a conversation about how they deserve to make their own decisions in the community that they live in. Where they live, sameness is a huge thing and hard to get away from. Jonas is changing and starting to realize things he hasn't before and is perceiving things differently. This story had a significant impact on my thinking of how everyone today is very ungrateful and disrespectful to things and about things and do not truly care until it is gone. I don’t like how people are so rude and careless about things in this world today. People need to be more thankful in this world because we never will truly know whenever it is too late. Make a good impact on people around you everyday and don't let little inconvineces ruin your whole day.
