I thought that Lamarck’s thought about if a bird needs long legs to wade deep water. Then it can acquire them by making an effort to stretch and use its leg in new ways was interesting.

I thought it was cool that Darwin connected his theory’s and help probe his theory’s right by using Lyell’s principles of Geology. He was able to recognize that if Earth can change over time then maybe animals could to.

The idea Lamark presented said that, “all orginisms have an inborn urge to become more complex and perfect.” Though, I do not believe this to be completey accurate, there really isnt a true perfection in nature. Just about every animal in nature has a balance of stregenths and weaknesses. Some animals are intelligent but very weak, and some may be resistant but very slow. There is no prefect creature in nature, one without weakness. Rather, I believe that all animals or orginisms simply evolve so suit the climate they are born into. As their climate changes over hundreds, or thousands of years, they will proceed to change aswell.

I thought it was interesting how Lyell argued that you could not accurately observe and explain the present without knowing the past, he said this because he though that the laws of nature are constant over time.

Its really cool how and when scientists' theories match up and actually make sense together. In history, there has always been a lot of conflict between scientists so its cool to see it all line up.

I find it pretty weird that nobody had ever even considered the idea of species changing when there was so much proof. Even say, the pigeon breeders had to be noticing that they could breed different specimens and get different results if they breeded particularly tall versus particularly short birds.
