In this scene, on page 2094-2095 in the literature textbook, depicts a very sincere moment between Troy and Bono. Bono expresses to Troy how he has known both Troy and Rose for some time and how he has grown to love and respect the two of them. However, he fears that Troy's love for Rose is diminishing now that he is seeing another woman, causing Bono to respond and convince him that Rose is something he should not let go. Troy counters by saying he does love Rose, but knows he has done something wrong that would not sit quietly with her.

Foreshadowing: "That's why I don't want to see you hurt her. But what you gonna do when she find out?" A line like this foreshadows about how Troy did something that would devastate Rose, and would cause some tension between her and Troy.

Irony: Troy loves Rose, yet its hinted that he did something that would anger Rose. He also states former, yet he is "seeing this other gal"

This scene reflects one of the many themes and meanings of the play, to which this expresses "betrayal" and "family".

. "Betrayal" : Troy and Bono vaguely speak about something that Troy would have to bring up to Rose that might potentially hurt her. Troy's talks of love for Rose would mean nothing since he was seeing another woman.

."Family": Bono's concern for Troy and Rose proves his love for them, making him feel as part of their family. However, it also reflects how the play reflects unity and how family, like Troy's, should stay together and love one another.
