Conor is having a nightmare and this tree is the monster in the nightmare. He isnt afraid of this monster even though its scary. The next morning he goes to school and does things he doesn't regularly do because he wants to make sure the rubbish is hidden from his mum.

Conor feels that the apothecary should have helped him because its his job and he needs to do it no matter who the customer is.  Also in The second tale conor destroys his grandmas living quarters and when she gets back she destroys the last thing in her house. Conor now knows that he could get into trouble but his grandma hasnt said anything yet. In the third tale he wants harry to see him but harry isnt. She would have to had to a worse look because shes going through her third round of chemo and she shouldn't look like she just doesn't have hair. Later in the movie when shes in the hospital she doesnt look bad she looks like she may have had a injury and had to get surgery. While when you have cancer you do not have any energy you lose weight and you look rough.
