This was successful as we did not face any difficulties. A small problem, I'm sure most people found was the matching up with the speaking from the scene ad we found that we spoke a lot quicker than the characters themselves. This is something we will look out for in the future. To edit this we used the programme iMovie. (Upload)

After lunch we did a photoshop workshop with Dave and we created a background for practice for the making of our E-books. In the meantime, I started experimenting on Photoshop and practicing the skills I learnt yesterday. This was a good opportunity for me as I got a better understanding of adding layers to images and using the different tools more accurately. 
We then did some secondary research for our E-Books. For this, I researched different child authors. Today I researched, Jacqueline Wilson and JK Rowling. We experimented on our own and created short music clips on our iPads. For mine, I found most of the app fairly easy as I am a musician. This helped me as I could interpret songs I already know how to play into new pieces. We then all had to present our GarageBand pieces to the class, I got good feedback for mine which gave me more confidence with the app. I will continue to experiment on GarageBand and try adding more instruments and get more of a melody in it. 
After lunch, Dave then did a workshop with us on photoshop. For this workshop, we drew and created our own cartoon characters which we then put onto photoshop so we could add different textures like fur etc to them and bring the characters to life. Firstly, we listened to Dave's tutorial and we all took notes accordingly and then we got on with it on our own. 
From this, I learnt that when drawing out the characters, you need to draw out each profile of the character. for example, we needed to draw the character side on, from behind and in front. This was somewhat difficult to begin with to get the right shapes and sizes as I used guide lines to show me where the head and arms etc should be. For this, I thinking in more detail about what I am expecting from my E-Book. However, I had already previously researched some animated E-Books which I found on my own. In this session, I wrote my findings up on a mind map. 
After Lunch, we then had Cliff as a teacher. In this session, we were continuing our research for our E-Books. For this, me, Gabbie, Chloe and Kirsten went down to the College Library and looked at some children's books. We then sat together and discussed what we thought were effective about them and why we liked them as a children's book. We filmed our reviews of the books which can be found on my work padlet.

Today he taught us how to use Final Cut Pro. We did our normal routine where he shows us his tutorial as we take down relative notes. We were set to make a short clip of ducks swimming in a duck pond. This was a really fun task and I found it very useful as I have never used final cut pro before. After we created the short duck clip, we created a short clip of lions walking across the screen. For this, we individually got four books and wrote down our thoughts as to why the books are effective. focusing on: Theme, Narration, Font and illustration. After this, we then researched into what audio problems we could face and how to overcome them. This was really helpful for me as I found out what i liled most about the books and what was more eyecatching.

After lunch, I made a online survey about children's books and what older people used to read etc.

Together, we shared ideas and came up with one which we will continue to build on. Today, we got straight into our groups to get started on our production schedule. This took about an hour for us to write up as we started to realise how little time we have to complete this task. It has been advised to do this production scene by scene however, I would have liked to make all of the backgrounds and characters in one or two days and then sounds etc and edit all together at the end. Despite this small hurdle, we got our production schedule written but but we already knew that we would not finish everything set on it for the one day. It is physically impossible to Make everything and animate a scene in one day. 
Whilst I was finishing off the production schedule, Rebecca started drawing out our characters with each profile of them (Front, side, back and side shot with leg out for walking). Once I completed the production schedule, I began making the backgrounds for scene 1. For this I made a woodland scene, then using the same woodland scene, I took out some trees and replaced them with a house for the scenes with the house in shot and finally I separated the tress and bushes ready for animating. this is so we can make the characters walk behind them. 
I stayed a little later than Rebecca to find out how to make the trees and bushes separate from the background to animate easier (like said above) . I now know that to get them separate, I need to make the other layers invisible, group the layers I need together and then save the document as a png to be able to use on it's own with a transparent background. For this session, we created a unit 3 padlet wall and uploaded the work we have already done for the separate tasks.
Today, we wasted no time with getting started from where we left off yesterday. Rebecca drew our last character whilst I got started editing one of them on photoshop. All day we worked together to each edit them on photoshop. She edited two and I edited two characters. This has helped us out for next week as now we have less things to edit on photoshop and can get started on foley and music. 
To begin with I had trouble remembering how to add textures to the image but with a few tries I remembered and got the hang of it. 
According to our production schedule we are behind schedule however, there is still a chance that we could finish this. I have done the production schedule so we have 2/3 extra days if we need them at the end before our deadline. 
As I have photoshop on my personal MacBook, I was Able to finish off the side angles of one of the characters I started at college but ran out of time to finish. 
Today, we did not face any problems and work was fairly smooth throughout the whole day and we were both very well motivated and concentrated.

We hope to use the motion room to record some of our sounds as we need a quiet and closed in room. We hope to drop a plate and pop a balloon for our loudest sounds

Firstly, I started importing the files for the first scene (Living room background). I had a good day with editing this, I remembered how to do everything I thought I would forget. Rebecca at with me and we edited this scene together on the same Mac. We took turns on the mouse and each had a say in what we wanted. 
Before this, we managed to record the narration (done by Rebecca) the voice for the mother (me) and the voice for the rabbit (kindly done by Julie). This was good for us, we got equipment easily and thankfully it was all working fine and we recorded it all smoothly. We recorded each voice twice to make sure we got it all successfully and we recorded the voice for the rabbit once with me, once with Rebecca and once with Julie. we then chose the best voice, which was Julie.

However, we have not put the voice acting or narration in yet. We have decided for the time being to leave them out and ensure we've got some scenes to work with. We still need to look at music a bit more to get some ready for the final edits. I have been experimenting at home but I find the app GarageBand hard to get used to and hard to come up with little patterns. Luckily, I do have piano experience to help me along the way. I can tell I am getting better each time I try which is a good sign.

We were in a room with no Macs and unfortunately, we had no paperwork left to do, all we needed to do was edit on final cut pro which this computers do not have. To help with our time, we found that the PC's have premier pro on them which gave us the idea to get all of the voice acting and narration and edit them together and in order. this is to make it easier for us to cut and put the right lines into place on Final Cut Pro. This took up most of the day surprisingly as it took a long time to listen to the audio and read the scrip and cut out bits we didn't need and move them in order. once this was completed, we started experimenting on GarageBand. This was a good use of our time as we hadn't spent much time on it but we were almost forced to in this situation. Thankfully we'd both come up with happy and sad sounding music to be used within our edit. I was very much relieved to have the music sorted. Once we sussed this out, it was smoothly edited and then we added music. We used the music we had pre made on GarageBand and put this all into place.
