         <description><![CDATA[<div>To climb Mount Everest is a lot of work and a lot of money. Climbers need special gears, such as several pairs of socks, including trekking, wool and liner socks. They also need   lightweight hiking boots as well as plastic, lined climbing boots. On climbers boots are step-in glacier crampons. Climbers must carry spares in case the others are damaged. And that's just the legs! The picture below is Renan Ozturk   with all of the gear needed to climb Mount Everest.  </div>]]></description>

         <title>Climbing Gears -Clothes</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Climbers will need both  lightweight and expedition - weight underwear. Climbers will also need a fleece or a synthetic zip up jacket, an expedition - weight down parka and a Gore-Tex shell jacket with a hood. Synthetic insulated pants down pants and a pair of Gore-Tex shell pants. For the climbers head they will need a head lamp with spare bulbs and batteries, glacier glasses with side covers, ski goggles, a baseball cap or visor, a wool hat and both lightweight and heavyweight balaclavas which are black masks, Synthetic bandannas will protect the climbers neck. The climber will need 4 different types of gloves: synthetic, expedition-weight, fleece, waterproof and expedition -weight mittens.      </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>2 sleeping bags, 2 inflating pads, 1 thermal pad per camp,multiple tents, a compass or GPS, 2    titanium burners, 2 or 3 light pots with lids, plastic mugs, a thermos, spoon and a knife and  pot holders. Lots of lighters and matches, chemical water purifier, 2 water bottles, gas and oxygen if applicable by trekking agency. Sunscreen, lip balm and a small first aid kit. Cameras, walkie talkies and lithium batteries are electronic equipment.<br><br><strong>Climbing Tools</strong>  <br>Climbers will need an Alpine climbing harness, 3 locking and 3 stationary carabiners, a belay device, prusiks and an ice ax with a leash. </div>]]></description>

How much does it cost?</strong><br><strong>A. </strong>Climbers can pay anything from $35,000 to more than $100,000.          <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>The first summit was on May 29, 1953 by Sir Edmund Hillary from New Zealand and Tenzing Norgay, a Sherpa from Nepal. The first woman to summit Everest was Junko Tabei of Japan in 1975.</li><li>You have to be at least 16 to climb Everest from the south side and 18 from the north.</li><li>Climbers burn over 10,000 calories each day, double that on the summit climb. They lose 10 to 20 lbs during the expedition</li><li>There is 66% less oxygen in each breath on the summit of Everest than at sea level</li><li>306 people (185 westerners and 119 Sherpas) have died on Everest from 1924 to December 2019 or 3%. Most bodies all are still on the mountain but China has removed many bodies from sight. These bodies are used as a landmark.</li></ul><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>The <strong>Sherpa people</strong> are an ethnic group from Nepal who have lived in the high altitudes of the Himalayas for generations. They help climbers by carrying tents and cooking food to the High Camps. </li><li>Sherpa means 'eastern people' in Nepali language.</li><li>are famous for their speed-climbing records, ascents of routes that no one has ascended before, expert guiding and other skills.</li><li>Sherpas feel it is disrespectful to stand literally on the tippy top since that is where Miyolangsangma, the Tibetan Goddess of Mountains, lives.</li></ul><div><br><br></div><div><br></div>]]></description>
