This was an incredible moment in American history. It was when the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was signed and now affected the lives of everyone in the US. officially it states, "It prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex or national origin." And although it was primarily influenced by those of African descent, it now protected US citizens of any race, racial background, or gender.
