Pacific viperfish have photophores that are bioluminescent. These photophores help them catch prey by luring the prey towards them. They seem to be quite dangerous, having teeth that resemble fangs and a large mouth. These fish use lights underneath their bodies to avoid predators.

Strawberry Squid

Strawberry squid have advantages in the deep sea. One of these advantages is that since the color of the strawberry squid cannot be seen in the deep sea, it can avoid predators easily. Another advantage they have are asymmetrical eyes. Due to this they can see in all types of lighting conditions. Due to these eyes, it is easier for strawberry squid to catch prey for food. There are quite a few nature-driven technological inventions for squid and octopus, one of which is a robot inspired by the octopus, going under the field of biomimicry. the robot had to silicone-made hands. This robot has the capability to climb on things such as ladders.
