"Project GRASP stands for 'Giving, Reaching, Attending, Showing and Pointing’, which are the skills required for joint attention. It is a 6-week parent coaching program for parents of children between the ages of 2-6 years old, with a diagnosis of ASD or social communication delays. Caregivers will be taught skills that will help their child build social engagement, communication, imitation and play skills by trained therapists. All four skills are key building blocks for learning. Parents will learn and use the strategies in this program, so they can teach their child throughout the day during everyday activities. In addition to the weekly webinar, caregivers receive individual coaching sessions with their child. Sessions can be offered either virtually or in-person at the Coral Gables office."

Many families find it challenging to afford an attorney, especially when applying independently.  Attorneys typically charge over $4,500 just for help with this paperwork and filing on their behalf.

We are parents helping other parents. We handled our daughter's application pro se after hiring an attorney for our son's case. During this process, we realized we could offer this service to help other families avoid significant financial burdens.

At Seacamp, there is so much to learn and experience, both on land and underwater.  For over 60 years, campers have had the opportunity to meet and make friends with teenagers from all over the world who share similar interests and ideas. Seacampers will explore our local marine environments which include coral reefs, shallow bays teeming with marine life and mangrove islands.

Campers will participate in field-based marine science courses taught by instructors with college degrees in related fields.  Our SCUBA program includes basic and advanced certification in SCUBA as well as marine science based open water SCUBA classes if your camper is SCUBA already certified.

Our aquatic activities include windsurfing, sailing, snorkeling and kayaking.  In addition, we offer creative expression classes in arts & crafts, creative writing, and photography. During evening programs campers participate in dances, movies, campfires, science activities and more.  The memories made at Seacamp will last a lifetime!

The expansion directly addresses a critical gap in care for families in the Florida Keys, where formal autism diagnostic evaluations are currently unavailable locally, often requiring families to travel outside Monroe County for assessments and specialized services.

Keys Kids Swim is a water safety and swim lesson program that provides FREE swim lessons to kindergarten students. During the pilot program in May 2023, kindergarten students from Key Largo School received swimming lessons and water safety training five days a week for 45 minutes a day for two weeks. 67 students graduated from the program on May 12, 2023. 

The pilot Keys Kids Swim program was a collaboration between Florida Keys Kids, Jacobs Aquatic Center in Key Largo, Monroe County School District, and Monroe County Parks and Beaches. 

The program would not have been possible without the generous support from Keys Children's Foundation, First Horizon Bank, Monroe County Board of County Commissioners, Quiescence Diving Services, Doc’s Diner, Regan Roth Insurance, and Kenny and Stephanie Channels, and Florida Keys Kids.

• Proof of income (gross family income of no more than 200% of the federal poverty guidelines)

• Proof of Florida residency

• Child’s date of birth (only children ages 4 and younger at the time of application are eligible)
