This collage shows my progress in the

beginning of Art 1. In the top left, my ability started with thick and uneven lines but I then learned line weight and contour lines. Also, I developed my SMART goals of using more detail and which improved by looking at online inspiration and help from Mrs. Hart.

What I learned and practiced about line weight, contour, cross contour, and observational drawing was line weight will give it the affect of looking closer or farther away. Contour helps define the basic structure of the object and observation drawing helps us pay close attention to details like shape and proportion by visualizing the object in our head then drawing it on paper.

What I learned from watching and understanding Heather Hansen's work was to always get fully into/involved in your artwork. Then we scribbled in class using markers, crayons, colored pencils or chalk. Then we used sidewalk chalk outside. What I did was sit on the pavement and fully let out my emotions into the chalk coloring around myself. What I learned about artistic thinking was to get passionate in your artwork.

We learned that a still life is a painting or drawing of an arrangement of objects. techniques for still life composition include light and shadow, perspective, balance, etc.. The item I brought was a Chicago softball, because it is meaningful for me because softball is my sport and I grew up in Chicago. My planning was focused mainly on perspective and shading.

I chose to create an image of popcorn and soda that shows how I learned to use line weight to show where the light is hitting the popcorn and the lid to the soda. This was my first major art project of Art 1. Critique and rubric results showed my strong areas of commitment to the artwork. In my areas to grow were in shading, I revised my work by changing the logo for the Pepsi.

I applied were shading in line weight because of where the light was hitting the ball what I learned from this project was to focus on the basic lines of the object before getting greater detail. Critique and rubric feedback results showed my strong areas are realism, my areas to grow were in shading. I revised my work by cutting out the trophy.
