My 4th graders do have trimester AR goals but their goals are based off of their reading levels (collected from Renaissance Learning program).
Math homework is assigned but I assign the problems that mirror what is done on the problem set in class. Most of the time, students are able to get started on math homework in class. They have a monthly AR test. I do not do points. Nightly math homework and completion of any unfinished classwork. Homework is structured to be no more than an hour.
