Union terrace gardens is a green area right in the heart of the city centre, and is a main venue for any outdoor cultural events that take place.
This image is from the Spectra Festival of Light, where the gardens(along with pretty much the whole city centre) were taken over by artists who work with light.
I also attended a charity festival here recently, where a stage with live music was set up, along with food and drink stalls.
