What I liked and didn't like about the book

I liked the way the book was set up. Certain chapters were dedicated to certain characters which gave a different point of view. The readers would see what they would see and know what they were thinking which I think is pretty cool. Those characters roles gradually became more significant. The author also uses these chapters as a way to show character development. The only bad thing about this sometimes it can become confusing and it slightly stalls the progression of the book. Not in a big way where it would throw everything off, but just enough so that it’s visible.

I don’t really have real connection with the book. Honestly, when I was younger I have dream of a world where people have powers and stuff. I was really into superheroes and having powers. In a way it made me feel like I was special or important.

My favorite cover and why

This is my favorite cover. I love it so much because it doesn’t have any pictures of people on their so how they look is up to you besides how they are described in the book. Another reason I chose this was because of the color and design. It looks exactly like Sam temple’s power.

I would definitely recommend this book to those who still have the kid in themselves. This book is really cool and dives it your imagine. I would also recommend this book to philosophers and people who love science fiction. Because of the realistic setting and realistic interactions between characters philosophers would have a field day analyzing this book. The book also consist of scientific elements. Another group I would recommend this too would be the dystonia lovers because of the post dramatic world with a new imaginary society.

Important Quotes

In the book “Gone” on page 179, Quin says, , “ Nice of you to remember the little people.” in response to Sam. I chose this quote because this highlights the developed aggression Quin has for Sam. Every Time the author shows us the perspective of Quin he showcases polar: opinions, attitude, thinking , and understanding. This is important to the story because it develops the close relationship between the two best friends and throws it in the mud a little. I think it foreshadows what will happen between the two.

In the book, “Gone”, on page 179, Quin says, “ Normal people are going to think you're dangerous” and “ kids have enough to be afraid of..”. I chose this quote because I think it foreshadows a future conflict that would affect all of the F.A.Y.Z. This quote also highlights the author's technique of having Quin serve as a voice for kids who don’t have powers(“Normal kids”, while expressing his own insecurities.

In the book, “Gone”, on page 164 , it says, “ a barrier made of….nothing she had seen before.”. I think this quote creates a different perspective of the F.A.Y.Z. and that's why I chose it. This quote makes the F.A.Y.Z. like a cage and it brings up questions. Many questions like why is it their and how are they gonna reach out for help if they can’t leave. This also foreshadows a future conflict for certain characters in the book later on.
