I stand here before you on all of my 4 legs to plead for my life. To you, I might seem just like a typical holiday meal- ready to slice off my head and fry me up. But I am more than that. I have hopes and dreams, I have good days and bad days and I desperately want to see more of those days. Us turkeys have so little voice in our own lives, so little rights in this world of yours and I decided this morning that today was my day to use my voice, use my wobble and plea for my life.

I beg of you, to look me in the eye, tell me I am not worthy. Tell me I am of better use cooked.

You can’t do it? I didn’t think so. Save this turkey’s life. Please.

Excuse me, but why eat me out of all the other turkeys out there. I was once a young turkey and I wanted to have a good life, and not a life that ends up getting eaten. I have some really fun days, like chasing kids when they chase me, and running around in a huge area. Instead I would get eaten by people with gravy and stuffing in me. Imagine you getting stuffed and eating by people, and your family watching you get taken away to be eaten. You would want to go have more days in your life, but instead, you get your head sliced off, and eaten with biscuits and mashed potatoes. That’s exactly how I feel, and I want to live the rest of my life in peace and have more fun days. Please, if you understand how us turkeys feel, you would feel miserable for us. Again, I hope you can figure out why I don’t want to be eaten, and served with biscuits and mashed potatoes.

Look at me, see those determined eyes and pointy beak. Don’t even get me started on the claws. Just because you humans eat my kind doesn't mean I am not willing to put up a fight. Understand one thing and one thing only. I have a life, a family I will fight for them. They need their mama back. This piece of meat isn’t going in the oven today. I promise to make a good home for myself with my turkey family. So I am able to live a full turkey life. My baby turkey hasn’t even graduated yet, I wanna see my baby. I deserve this pardon because I will be able to watch my dear baby child grow up without the fear of being eaten by some human! I know my rights and one of them has to be “Not getting eaten” not just for Thanksgiving but forever!

Pardon me! I dare you. You may be asking why? Well first of all I am one of the only turkeys that can talk and type sooo…. Also im 2 so i still have 8 to 12 years of my life to live. You would not like to eat me. You really shouldn't. I tastes disgusting! I am also a very small turkey so you wouldn't even get a decent sized meal. But you should eat my brothers. All the things I have told you about me are not true for them so you should eat them in stead. :)

We need to have rights just like you do. The fact that you humans eat us without even putting yourselves in our shoes is just so....ugh. I am aware that this may seem like a selfish request but I promise my reasoning is completely logical. The other turkeys at my farm are great guys, they really are, which is exactly why you should take them instead of me! Sadly, I am not the heaviest turkey on earth, I am quite skinny actually. I’m like a toy display model, it looks the prettiest but doesn’t, well…..work? The other turkeys are much heavier than I and would make a splendid meal. And what a shame it would be to eat a beauty like me! I can assure you that I am the most beautiful turkey, my feathers are the softest of any turkey in my farm (which is quite a lot of turkeys). Please, don’t let my beauty go to waste! Eat them instead!

I would like to make myself very clear when I say, I’m the worst turkey ever. I really am. I’m scrawny and small, who would ever want to eat a turkey that is small. I also have no, absolutely no nutritional value. I have never eaten anything remotely healthy once in my life. For the past 7 years , I have not eaten anything but garbage. In fact I’m pretty sure if you ate me you contract some disease. I am also old, no one likes old things, why would the president wish to eat an old man? Such as myself? We’re practically the same age. Isn’t that weird. I would also like to bring up the fact that turkeys suck. I mean, do people actually think we taste good? That's persosturus, we’re loud, and ugly, and sometimes some fat will stick to our muscles and the piece you eat will get this big chunk of fat on it, and then you’ll barf at thanksgiving, then you’ll have to go to bed early, and not watch the movie with the family, and cry yourself to sleep. So why, would you, the president ever wish to eat such an awful, awful turkey. So please, do the smart thing. And pardon me.
