Setting boundaries for other students to actively listen while someone is speaking as well. Providing and creating time when every student can contribute their thoughts. Just because a student doesn't speak much doesn't mean that they do not have much to say. Providing statements of approval after a student speaks builds confidence in that student as well. Teaching students how to pronounce words correctly and exposing them to different types of vocabulary and context to become better orators. Like one teacher said, there is always talking in the classroom but finding ways to create time for deliberate talking is necessary to increase a students speaking ability.
