When we avoid making a weekly, or even daily plan, we tend to lose track of just how important certain tasks are. It is important to plan ahead of time so you are not stuck when actually trying to complete tasks. This will show that you will be an organized leader in the future.

When you say "yes" too much, you often find yourself with too much on your plate. This can make you feel very overwhelmed an anxious. The most frustrating part of this is is that it is easily avoidable. Focusing on one thing at a time will make you a better leader.

Putting things off until the last minute is something we are all guilty of doing once in a while, especially when it's something you really don't want to do, like that laundry that's been piling up or that school project you've been dreading for weeks. But, when you procrastinate and too many things pile up, you'll have too many things to do with very little time and you'll start to feel like you do when you say "yes" to too many things: overwhelmed and anxious. Getting important, urgent things done as soon as possible shows you can be a responsible leader.

Time Waster #4: Not Putting Up Boundaries to Distractions

There are so many distractions everywhere we go: phones, social media, notifications, noises, and more. Some of these are easier to set boundaries around that others. For example, if you know you need to study for a test and you know that getting text message notifications will distract you, put you phone away. Being able to handle and/or ignore distractions will make you a committed leader.

Time Waster #5: Overthinking or Trying to Be "Perfect"

While it is nice to not make mistakes, it is also important we make them so we can learn from them. Spending too much time overthinking a task or trying to make the outcome perfect will take time away from all your other responsibilities. Learning how to admit your mistakes is important when learning to be an honest leader.
