This song is about freeing Nelson Mandela from prison. The Specials wanted to talk about this because at the time N.Mandela, who was a black man, opposed American racist laws.

I took this song because N.Mandela was a very important person for America at the time and changed a lot in relation to racism.

The subject is a critique of the importance of brands in our world

The artist talks about this to show that brands change a person's image in the eyes of others. People believe that they will be more important with expensive brands but these are lies because we are all equal.

I find this song important because I agree that brands are useless and I would like everyone to realize that the habit does not make the monk and that it is necessary French become more eco-responsible in terms of its consumption.

The most important words are « naked king, I am nothing » because they are false: a king is a king even naked. 

The Cranberries is a Rock Band formed in 1989 and composed of 3 mans and 1 woman. 

In 1993 they release their first album and, in 1994, their segund album in which appears this rock protest song Zombie. 

 Zombie is a song which talks about the horror of the war. In 1994, too much war had already broken out. The band accused the army to be zombie like they say : In your head, in your head Zombie, What's in your head? Zombie. The band talks about all the wars that have broken away since 1916 when they say « It's the same old theme

 The war kill millions innocents, cities are destroyed and the Cramberries wanted to expose the stupidity of the war who ruins the lives of millions of children, women, men, soldiers who spend years fighting, killing. 

and we, we watch these people kill each other without being able to do anything 
 Besides waiting for it to pass and there have to be groups to denounce these people, these zombies at the head of an army that trigger these massacres 

And I ask myself the same question: « what's in the heads of these zombies to people to fight in their place for the power ?» 

It is performed by John Lennon and released in 1971. It is one of the most famous pop songs.

John Lennon was born on the 9th of august in 1940, in Liverpool. He was one of the leaders of the british group « The Beatles », created with Paul Mc Cartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr in 1960. John Lennon was a militant and pacifist artist. Unfortunately he was assassinated by a crazy fan, Mark David Chapman.

This song is about peace all over the world. John Lennon denounces religions, greed, jealousy, corruption and hunger for power, which proves it is a protest song. He invites us to give the example and to have a brotherly attitude. 

I have chosen this song because I love the rhythm of the chorus. Indeed it is slow, soft and easy to remember. It conveys a strong message which gives us the impulsion to do positive actions. 

My favorite lyrics, in this song, are :

But I’m not the only one ». In this passage, I find John Lennon sincere by confessing that he is a dreamer. But he reminds us that if we were more dreamers on earth, dream  may become real. 

I chose that song because I enjoy listen to it and it has a deep meaning.

I think the most important lyrics in that song are "There's many lost, but tell me who has won" because when a war causes a lot of deads, nobody can really say that he has won something.

It says War means  ‘the destruction of innocent lives’ .This song more than almost any other song, has survived through the decades as the most powerful protest song against War. 

 

3) This song expresses the resistance of the young population in United States against conscription  into the army. The reason for disobediance from many young Americans can be heard in the main theme of the song.  

 

4) I choose this song becasue I’ve ofen heard it at home and in famous movies like ‘Rush Hour’ starring Jackie Chan.
