It is a violence that is directed to an individual based on his or her biological sex or gender identity.

This includes physical, sexual, verbal, emotional and psychological about. On most cases it is usually men that violate women's rights as they claim to be the heads of the houses.

This commonly happens when the other gender is drunk, and when they are sober they usually apologize and promise the other partner that they will change.

I personally think that men will never change, if this had ever happened to you maybe in a relationship please leave, Your life and your health matters.

Violence is largely perpetuated against women. To change this behavior now it is time to expose the perpetrator instead of the victim, the person who committed the crime should be the one trending on social media. It is just that nothing seems to work everyday a genders are being violated. It is so sad,people are not willing to change. Some other forms of this violence may include verbal abuse, bullying, sexual abuse, harassment and other types of violence.

In recent weeks we have seen an increase in violence targeted at women and girl children.  This province buried one of its own recently, Uyinene Mrwetyana.  She was raped and killed allegedly by a post office worker.  There are many other cases that have not been reported in the media.

I am so glad that someone is talking about the topic. What I think can be done to stop GBV is that children from an early age should be taught that hitting people is not okay. Both boys and girls should know that hitting another person is not okay. Then the next generation will grow up knowing that.

GBV can be stopped but it all depends on victims whether they speak up.
